Typos, boo-boos and blunders
Posted On 12/03/2008 02:12:17

Bah, I just realized some of the writings I've thrown up on my blog here are "first" drafts. (Hey, I needed content to test VL, what can I say.) I have been meaning to find the time to go back and finish editing, tweaking and fleshing out my articles. And while I am at it, add some more musings I have tucked away. (I might even have a few second drafts collecting dust.)

So -- this is a warning. lol. If you read my blog postings -- forgive me if I have offended your eyeballs!  As soon as I get a chance, I’ll fix the grammar, typos and any other serious issues.

Late night musings... got to love em.

Learning Magick
Posted On 10/17/2008 16:46:30

I have been involved in magick one way or another since I was 19; I am now 33. I am fortunate to have the best of both worlds when it comes to learning magick: self-taught and with guidance. I have benefited greatly from both, and still do. The first thing you will discover about magick is there is no end to learning.

I have been openly active in the discussion of magick for about 4 years. I currently run an online community that focuses on the occult and I actively practice magick with my husband. He is a Ceremonial Magician who has been practicing for over 15 years. We have gained a lot of insight from each other and discovered many new things together.

Over the last 4 years of open discussion I have seen a common argument about whether or not self-taught magick is better than learning from a structural system or a teacher.

The practitioners that stand opposite from each other tend to hold the opinion that the other discipline lacks or is inhibited in some fashion. In my opinion neither is true or false. Another subject that is commonly discussed is whether a person can be “a natural” at performing magick. Or that if a person that has a natural gift such as clairvoyance is more adept at using magick. It is my opinion that it matters on a case by case basis.

No one can really define the boundaries of what makes a person more capable of learning magick over another. However, there are several influences that do affect the way a person will learn magick:

- Perception
- The ability to grasp the concepts found in magick.
- The best method of learning that is most suitable for the student.
- The natural attributes a person has (insightful, ambition, patience).

Most importantly the time and effort they put into PRACTICE. There are many variables that shape a practitioner. No one can gage which is a better learning environment for another.

There are some things however that I feel I can say with a bit more certainty.

Our True Self

Our environment plays a significant role in how we develop mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. This will also play a role in the path we choose to take on a religious or spiritual level (or lack thereof). Our families, friends and communities influence how we develop socially which can directly affect whether or not we are opened to the idea of magick to begin with. These are barriers that our true selves must face and in most cases do not break through.

Our true self is the celestial mind -- the connection between us and the Divine; our primal spirit. The essence of us that transcends through many lives and brings hidden understanding of ourselves that we were not otherwise introduced to in this lifetime. This does result in being more aware of our celestial mind (super-consciousness) than others.

The efficacy of your magickal workings is in direct proportion to the awareness of your celestial mind. And thus your understanding of magick and ability to successfully utilize it is directly influenced.

More often than not people stay confined within their lower-self, because their environment often reflects the desires of their lower-self. They seldom find themselves in positions that allow them to expand beyond.

Self development promotes the ability to discover the higher-self, however, the amount of conviction the student applies is what determines their success in magick.

What about a teacher?

There are four elements that I believe make for a good course in the study for magick:

- Discovery
- Guidance
- Self-teaching
- Practice

I do not feel magick is something that can be pigeon-holed into one way of learning. There are many variables involved and each of us differs in how we accept and absorb information. We are each also very different in how much we are willing to open ourselves.

Discovery

Discovery is an important growth element. Do not be afraid to branch your studies in other forms or ideas. Doing so will benefit your workings by expanding your awareness of other methods. Or, in some instances validate a working. Restraining yourself to a single thought process is no different than spiritual stagnation.

Guidance

Quality guidance provokes self thought, provides advice and presents new ideas. However, no one can “teach” you magick in the sense of how one teaches Math. Insight, experience and even tools are priceless. If you choose not to have a specific form of guidance, consider community discussion. Discovering other paths and perspectives is an excellent way to provoke thought and expand your own ideas. Perhaps even spark new interests.

Self-teaching

In-depth books can be useful for studying systems of magick, correspondences, spiritual and mental development (to name a few). This form of learning requires self discipline and the ability from the student to take the studies further in practice.

Practice

I cannot stress how important practice is to your magickal development. It helps you achieve a mindset most desirable and most influential for magickal work. It also helps you fine tune your rituals and meditations. The study of magick is pointless if you do not PRACTICE.

It is my opinion when all of the learning approaches mentioned in this article are combined, the learning environment is most effective and has the most potential.
Some things to keep in mind:

No one can define magick to you.

“Religion is a daughter of Hope and Fear, explaining to Ignorance the nature of the Unknowable.” Ambrose Bierce.

Crowley probably said it best:

“Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in the conformity of the Will.”

Unfortunately the definition is vague. The science simply means the capacity to have a repeatable result from the art of your work.

Also, give yourself time. Learning and discovering yourself and magick is a life long journey. Do not allow others to sway you or shake your confidence.

This article is merely my opinion and what holds true for me; only YOU can decide which method of learning works best for you.

Self Realization
Posted On 10/17/2008 16:46:03

I will need to edit this, since I rambled through a first draft. But I felt the need to express myself. So here goes.

Self Realization

Self realization is not a New Age concept. Discovering the true self dates back to the dawn of spirituality and you do not have to look far to discover its various form and versions. Ceremonial magick is but one of many methods of achieving the rebirth of the self.

When I took a serious approach to learning Ceremonial magick... the most empowering concept was the discovery of the self. THIS I absolutely had to attain -- it was the voice to my song. But at the early stages of my understanding, I was not fully embracing what that meant.

I am not speaking of the idea of "finding one’s path." But the discovery of the True Will, our celestial mind. The true, clear, being, that we are prior to any conditioning forced upon us.

When I began to branch out within study and practice, I cross-referenced everything. Looking for the single piece of knowledge overlooked because of mankind’s general pompous attitude in regards to their own creation. I had to also escape my own self-inflicted ego.

While I still fumble from time to time with egoism in the terms of materialistic concepts, I have and continue to make connections and parallels in the spiritual world. Regardless of my findings, I refuse to conform to a “process” merely because it fits my ideas. Rather, I’ve become the process.

Of course I naturally see the benefits of using materials and ideas from previous like-minded individuals to gain perspective and knowledge – but I learned that it’s through practice I am finding the wisdom.

But before all this can begin, self realization must be understood.

Self realization finally revealed its true meaning to me, but it did not come quickly nor without trial and errors. At first glance the concept was easy -- but I had only touched the surface. My previous comprehension of self realization was misguided.

When I first picked up the book "The Secret of the Golden Flower" my thoughts on it were very different from what they are now. Originally, I took the text to mean that we must "banish out" all conditioning of our former influences in order to truly find our selves. Time passed and I put principle to practice, and began my own process. I now understand the text quite differently.

My understanding of it now is that during childhood we are all disconnected from our true self due to some sort of conflict or event. As if a trigger is switched and our consciousness divides into a conscious state and an unconscious state.

It has become clear to me that in order to "attain" the true-divine self, banishing out all the negatives and influences’ from life is not an accurate approach. In the end, it defeats the entire purpose of recognizing the very thing that disconnected you in the first place. Instead one should face it; understand it for what it is; accept it, and then ignore it. The point is not to embellish the past, but simply rewind the self to our previous unconditioned being.

We then begin the process of learning that these self-altering events are due to the conscious conditioning -- and not you. The "collective" barrier. The fear and lack of confidence that plagues us dwells in our conscious; the only waking state we know. The totality of what you are is not fully realized. Only the mundane consciousness is invoked, limiting us and our grasp of true reality. To understand this is to begin the process of "undoing,” not erasing.

Once we are able to understand the rewind process we can venture further back to the state of our celestial being. Where we are “reborn” and become our true divine self. Naturally I understand it's not as simple as "1-2-3,", and many spend a lifetime trying to "achieve" this rather than discover it.

Meditation and the Middle Pillar exercise have been extremely beneficial to me once I understood the power of these two exercises. Even if this change with in me is only psychological, but then again magick IS a form of psychology.

This is where my thoughts on quantum physics become a factor. And while I can understand it within my own mind; I certainly will not attempt to explain quantum state here. I'll do very poorly in trying to elucidate -- as some of you know from reading my post using “programming language” as a metaphor. :p

While I feel I have made a lot of progress in my spiritual journey, I suddenly feel like I am on the brink of an epiphany. “My eyes are wide open.”

While I understood that different theologies centered on the common theme of rebirth, I did not make the simple connection. The obvious was overlooked. Now I come to believe that this rewind and rebirth evokes the passage to our godhead. This isn’t merely "achieved" by a series of rituals; it's discovered through self-process. The rituals and exercises are a mere tool -- one of many means the same end.

In one of my blog articles I wrote about the “The Law – Our Time of Liberation.” I touched upon the The Aeon of the Child. At the time of writing, I was centered on man’s evolution PAST the restrictions of religion.

But in fact, The Aeon of the Child: represents our own self-rebirth. It’s not about “breaking down repression.” It's about facing your own repression, seeing it for what it is, rewinding to our pre-flesh celestial self, and become reborn to reach true spiritual attainment.

The Tools of a Magus
Posted On 10/16/2008 14:12:28

The focus of this article is to illustrate the effective items and focals that are the main driving force in high-magick. These components each serve their own purpose, and when effectively, methodically and seamlessly combine, the true potential of the practitioner can be fully realized.

The Psyche
The most important element in Magick is the psyche of the practitioner. The psyche is made up of three different parts: The Conscious Mind, the Subconscious Mind, and the Superconscious Mind.

The Conscious Mind is our rational mind. It's this part of our brain that we function from in our waking hours. It's our reasoning and it processes information from the Subconscious Mind for enabling us to make rational decisions based on knowledge and experiences. Hopefully.

The Subconscious Mind’s primary job is to function as our defense mechanism. It is the echoing voice we hear when we try and make a decision or judgment. The Subconscious Mind always works to full capacity and without effort, even while we rest. It’s during sleep that the subconscious mind is the most prominent functioning portion of the brain. It stores ALL of the information and experiences we've received. However, it harbors some of this data which prevents our Conscious mind from using all of which we've collected. Our subconscious will take suggestions as well, and draw conclusions based off those suggestions. Even if those conclusions are incorrect – for the subconscious has no rational and can twist the information we received. The subconscious representation of information plays out quite differently without conscious rationalization. You'll experience this mostly in your dreams.

You cannot instruct how the subconscious takes in information. Indirect approaches is the only effective means in which we can in someway control how our subconscious processes information. Language, if spoken mentally or verbally, is not exactly effective. Symbols/images are a good way to send indirect information to the subconscious -- images are not as suggestive as text therefore we can manipulate how the subconscious absorbs the information. Meditation and feeding subtle indirect visual information will allow us to manipulate how our subconscious works – giving us more control and promoting development in this area of our psyche.

THIS should be a primary goal. As a practitioner the idea is to learn how to feed your subconscious to gain some form of control over the output to our Conscious Mind. Suggestions must be given without the lust of results – instead, focus on material in which will prove useful to the practitioner, rather than the results of the working.

Inevitably, the subconscious is the place we'll pass through using disciplines such as meditation to eventually reach the superconcscious.
The Superconcscious Mind is the source of ALL consciousness, and considered the "higher form of unconsciousness." This is where the higher-self can be found. Were the Divine/God/HGA resides within you. This is the God-head, the place we seek through our workings and meditations. It's our ultimate spiritual goal.

Each of the 3 parts of consciousness work separate and have their own purposes. However, if one can learn how to make them work together, a more effective psyche will evolve, producing a more capable person. This is the perfect mindset for the magician. Magick is not the only benefit in developing the psyche. It also provides us the ability to remove the many conditions that humanity has placed upon us. To break free from this conditioning and discover the true self.

Many of our senses can help this process. Each sense is equally important, but not as effective separately.

Some of our natural senses allow us to collect information, such as sight, sound, taste and touch. These senses send the information as knowledge and experience to our subconscious. Our subconscious sorts the information and returns it to our conscious and this is how we decide to interact with the world around us.

Part of the senses is human instinct which most animals and humans have. Humans however (unlike animals), have been trained to ignore this basic sense. This sense is often referred to as the sixth sense, or our intuition -- which is a very important element in the make-up of all our senses.
Our brain can be thought of as a "receiver" which gains all of its information from our senses, even instinct and intuition. Once our psyche is more developed we can tune in to specific thought processes, and ultimately the higher thought process in order to become more aware of our higher-self (the Divine within).

We do this through meditations, yoga, tai chi and similar disciplines. As we sharpen our senses, and begin to cross the bridge from the lower-self to the higher-self. Which for me, I hope ultimately leads to a transformation of the soul. To quote the Emerald Tablet:

Quote:
“That which is Below corresponds to that which is Above,
and that which is Above corresponds to that which is Below,
to accomplish the miracles of the One Thing,
through the meditation of the One Mind,
so do all the created things originate from this One Thing,
through Transformation.”
ALL of these elements combined are greater than the sum of their parts – resulting in a more effective outcome than these senses would have on their own. Meaning, no single sense is the driving force in magick, but together they build the psyche which becomes the driving force.

The Physical Representation of the Practitioner’s Spirit
The practitioner’s physical tools are merely representations of the mage in the spiritual realm – an extension of the magician if you will. Many suggest, and I agree, that these tools should be made by the practitioner themselves. I do not feel however this is a requirement.

The idea behind self-made tools is that the more focus and personal detail the practitioner puts into the tool the more the item absorbs in the magicians subconscious. This develops the "extension" more than it would if the item were easily obtained by purchasing.

However, we all know that self-made tools are not very practical in today’s world. Purchasing the items is fine, however, I do suggest spending a good amount of time meditating on each tool, planting that item as deeply in the subconscious as possible. Perhaps even, adding personal touches like a particular symbol that you identify with.

The four elemental weapons are: the Wand, Cup, Dagger and Pentacle. I will also discuss other tools and focals.

The Wand
The Wand extends/represents the Creativity of the magician and is a demonstration of the Will -- the unshakable determination and intent of the practitioner. It corresponds with the element of Fire. The wand should be fit comfortably in the hand. Popular choices for wands are wood, crystal and copper. I prefer wood. Once your wand has been consecrated, you should store it in a red silk bag or cloth.

The Cup
The Cup extends/represents the magician’s Understanding which is as deep as our subconscious. Silver is suggested because of its correspondence with the moon. I currently use a crystal cup with a pewter stand. If you cannot obtain a pure silver cup, you can work with anything. Just make sure it’s deep enough to hold wine (or whatever you prefer) without spilling. You should store the cup in a blue silk bag or cloth.

The Dagger
The Dagger extends/represents the mage’s Intelligence. Mainly, I use the dagger for the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram and the Star Ruby. The idea behind using the dagger is to threaten unwanted entities and influences with an extension of the intelligence. It’s suggested to use a copper based dagger, double-edge and comfortable to hold. Your dagger should be kept in a yellow silk bag or cloth.

The Sword
The Sword extends/represents the mages force and it best used when evoking spirits or threatening malignant entities. I have a carbon-spring steel, 22 inch, long-sword given to me by my husband. I have it hanging on the wall next to my altar. Depending on your working, if you have evoked a subject, the sword is handled by the mage to ensure the subject does not or cannot enter the circle of protection. Be mindful though, “subjects” can be quite tricky and persuasive.

The Pentacle
The Pentacle extends/represents the Body of the mage, the house of God. It corresponds with earth. This is a bit more complicated tool, and will likely be developed well into your journey of your Work. In general, the pentacle should be made of beeswax in a diameter of about 8 inches. On the surface of the pentacle, the magician is to carve his or her symbol depiction of the whole of the universe. This will take a considerable amount of meditating. I currently keep a silver pentacle on my altar as a temporary representation of the body, until my depiction of the universe is fully realized. Once created, your pentacle should be kept in a green silk bag or cloth.

The Robe
The Robe extends/represents the mage’s armor. It should be comfortable and made of soft material. Color is a personal preference although there are some color correspondences you might want to consider.

The two main color correspondences are white and black. Black encompasses all colors – so therefore it is suitable for all workings, both for low and high magick. White is the absence of all color and is best used when dealing with hostile forces. The color white repels light, making the robe an excellent shield.

I made a personal preference of dark blue with white trimming. Blue represents the following correspondences:

Quote:
Gender: Either
Planet: Neptune/Mercury
Zodiac: Aquarius (primary); Gemini and Libra (secondary)
Element: Water
Chakra: Fifth, Throat Chakra
Sephiroth: Chesed (Mercy)
The general representation is to honor the element of Water.
Suitable for the promotion of gentle movement, peace, tranquility, harmony, accordance with the Self, prophesy, wisdom, emotion, spirituality, unity, hope and inspiration.
The Altar
The Altar is THE mage’s workspace. I've strayed a bit from the recommended altar setup in Ceremonial magick. Since I use a combination of both high and low magick – my altar is customized for this type of combined practice. I include with my rituals and meditations the uses of herbs, offerings, candles, crystals, incense and other items.

My opinion is that your altar can and should be very personal and does not necessarily need to prescribe to an exact template. Nonetheless, if you want to follow the specifications outlined in Ceremonial Magick, Book 4 by Crowley offers good direction.

Placed before my altar is a huge pentacle rug which is round and perfect for circle casting or performing ceremonial rituals.

I am fortunate to have an entire room dedicated solely to my workspace. I realize however this is not always possible due to living arrangements. Therefore if you find yourself in shared space, or using part of your bedroom (or other room) – try and create a space, even if just a small diameter, purely dedicated to your Work. Another idea to make your workspace more transparent and private you might consider using a chest. After your workings, you can store the ritual items inside the chest and out of view.

All of your tools and space should be respected and not toyed with. Showing off your items and allowing others to touch them is not suggested. Your signature (so to speak) is placed upon each item and should not be contaminated by others. Also, bragging equals ego, and ego is a direct working against achieving the higher-self. The only time I feel it’s appropriate for one to discuss their workings (perhaps show their ritual items), is when attempting to teach. There is no ego in the desire to educate others.

But otherwise remember:

Quote:
"Thou must attain before thou knowest, and once thou knowest -- Mighty woe, that silence grips the willing lips."
I share my ritual room with my husband, who has been an hermetic occultist for 16 years. We share some of the tools, and some we do not. This is not always recommended, however, considering we believe that we're unified – our working together only amplifies our Work and workspace.

I keep the main tools mention in this article on or by my altar. Included are few other items such as a scrying mirror, an obsidian crystal ball, tarot cards, Sage burner and the Book of the Law by Crowley. I store other materials such as crystals, herbs, candles, and incense in cabinets (in the ritual room) until I require their use.

I use a CD player to listen to a variety of music for rituals, yoga and tai chi. We also store our entire occult library in the ritual room which includes subjects on Magick, metaphysical practices, philosophy, spirituality, rituals, and grimoires.

Not too far away from my workspace, is my Dream Journal, Book of Shadows and Ritual Log. The Ritual Log contains dates, times, moon phases, items used, rituals performed, my mood, weather, and eventually the effects of the ritual. As time goes by I can reference back and see my progress. This gives me the opportunity to improve a particular ritual based on the data I recorded and the overall outcome.

There are many tools, focals and methods a practitioner can use for their Workings. All of these extensions and representations are important because they help develop the psyche of the practitioner. Fine-tuning the psyche enables the mage to achieve their ultimate goal, and hopefully allows them to explore the Superconcscious Mind and discover their God Head/the Divine/Holy Guardian Angel.

Eventually for me, this starts the final phase to spiritual transformation. Transforming the lead of flesh into the gold of spirit.

So, in essence, the driving force of Magick is the psyche of the magician.

The Law – Our Time of Liberation
Posted On 10/16/2008 14:11:30

I am not a Thelemite, however, I am a follower of the Law of Thelema in principle. It’s said that an extraordinary phenomenon takes place every 2000 to 5000 years where a universal change in human unconsciousness unfolds.

The Aeon of Isis: This was a period where women were worshipped as Gods. They were honored and respected for their gift of birth and their mothering. Women were viewed as strong warriors and great hunters. They were the Queens of their tribes. It was a time also where nature was respected and cherished. The Goddess was within everything.

The Aeon of Osiris: The era of sacrificial gods. This marked the beginning of mainstream religion that has echoed for centuries and lingers even today. The beginning of Christianity and Judaism, when mankind realized he had something to do with his own creation. Women found themselves regarded as second class citizens and considered weaker than men. Mankind was no longer in harmony with Nature; the Goddess was no longer recognized nor was her influence over nature itself. This was a time where man was to serve the “male” God as slaves.

The Aeon of the Child: This transition occurred around the early 1900s; the liberation of the human race from oppression, the era of the word of “The Law.” The Law embodies all religions and fosters great tolerance which is essential in preserving and protecting our uniqueness.

Horus, the child of Isis and Osiris, the hawk-headed God, has taken the Throne of the Gods.

The Transition from Osiris to Horus

The Aeon of Osiris has left a lasting impression on mankind. You do not need to look very far to see the marks made by the age of slavery. It has portrayed woman as weak and troublesome, unequal to man; to justify this, it tells of the punishment from God by delivering suffering during birth. It says that man in flawed and can not be pure without sacrifice of some sort. All of mankind suffers for this.

Another mark is the abuse that nature endures at the hands of people that still believe they have to right to dominate the earth and all it encompasses.

We condemn and deny equal respect to those that do not follow the dogma that this Aeon has prescribed as the true Word of God. We still embody another era of concepts and ideas which offer very little common sense or a respect for individual rights. We see today the questions about old customs and old ways of life.

The Inquisition tortured, raped and slaughtered masses of innocent people in the name of God, and yet there are those that blindly ignore this and the treachery a single mindset can bring. The impact of this former way of thinking has influenced the very evolution of mankind in mind and spirit. We have become a people divided, with each other, with our spirituality and with nature. This age pushed mankind backwards in the way of development and in technology.

However, The Aeon of the Child has brought forth an era that demands that we think for ourselves, that we question authority. This is illustrated in events like the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, the end of the Soviet Union’s grip on its people, the liberation in South Korea… Horus heard the cry for freedom, and he has come.

No matter how hard the religious zealots or dominating politicians fight it, the era of freedom is here and it is here to stay for a long time.

Crowley delivered this in the Law of Thelema. He had become the conduit in which we were to consciously understand The Aeon of the Child.

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law," and "thou hast no right but to do thy will. For pure Will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of results, is every way perfect." “There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt.”
Love Under Will

After many discussions with people about magick, I find the phrase "Love is the Law, Love Under Will" is most often misinterpreted. This is usually done by those who have not read Crowley’s "Book of The Law" – or know very little about the Laws of Thelema. (Not always the case, but in my discovery, most often.)

They perceive it to mean that we all have the right to love who we want without any influence from others. Which we do, however, this is not the real meaning of the phrase at all. For instance, I have seen the phrase misused when people are discussing whether or not Love Spells/Rituals are proper to use to gain your heart’s desire (even if such an act would work) – this concept is way off target to the meaning of the phrase.

'Love is the Law' does not really mean physical love at all, in fact that seems to be the primary stumbling block for people. Love is the Law represents the love for yourself and all reality, despite the nature of any being. It is an acceptance and understanding that duality is ultimately illusion and that harm to ‘another’ is actually harm to the self.

Find the ability to truly love yourself and others unconditionally and understanding they have a place in our world and keep part of the balance can be difficult and take an individual their entire life to discover.

‘Will’ in Crowley’s phrase means your True Will. This means that if you should achieve freedom and Love under the guidance of your True Will, you cannot go wrong.

Once you find your True Will, and take on self responsibility then you are in control and the piece of Divine that lies within you can be fully realized, using true Will to find your Godhead, and your place within this universe without collision.

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law," and "thou hast no right but to do thy will."
The law suggests that we have a purpose, and a right to live in harmony with the rest of the Universe. To be unique, undefined by man, and discover who we truly our without the conditioning of mere human concepts.

In that discovery, we learn to love ourselves and everything within the Universe because we come to understand everything has its own purpose. We will understand our own purpose.

We acknowledge that we have no right but to do our Will and not attempt to influence another’s right to his or her own true Will. It’s been my impression that once a person has discovered this… it’s impossible to intervene. If you do, you just might have the weight of the universe collide against you.

You do not have to be a Thelema follower to understand this basic Law. In fact, true Will is not confined to the world of Magick. Self-discovery and enlightenment can be achieved many ways. The key to success is realizing you share the universe and you must realize what exists around you has the same right as you do, even if they themselves do no understand this Law or take it as principle. It does not matter their nature, it does not matter their purpose, what matters is that you can reach deep within you and elevate your self into a mindset of complete understanding and unconditional Love.

This is not to say you are removed from human emotion such as anger and even hate. We are all bound by these effects because we live in a human world. It’s how you handle the situation that can truly set you free. One has the right to defend one’s self, of course – for unfortunately not all share the doctrine of Love and being forced to harm another in defense, while lamentable, is sometimes required. But so long as that act is taken with full understanding of the doctrine of Love one can try to minimize the pain and maximize the learning for the offending party.

I myself have had difficulties at times of breaking the chains of resentment, anger and hate. In fact it has taken me years to overcome some of my more distasteful experiences. But with dedication in self development, there comes a point where you realize your Will is directly being influenced and restrained by yourself. And of course, the word of Sin is restriction. You can’t change the nature of the situations you experience, but you can set yourself free through acceptance, understanding, and transcendence.

Find the love of yourself, understand why you are who you are, strive for improvement – recognize the Will of others and set yourself free. Embrace The Aeon of the Child.
